VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION COUNSELLOR
Vocational Rehabilitation is a dynamic field that requires specialized counselling training that integrates knowledge of disability and career counselling. Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellors (or VRC's) have a variety of educational backgrounds ranging from college to university education.  In addition, we seek staff with credentials (or a willingness to pursue the training necessary to obtain certification) including:
·         CVE – Certified Vocational Evaluator
·         CCRC or CRC- Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor or Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor

As a professional in this field, you are asked to have membership in our professional association the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA - vracanada.com/.) We do provide on-the-job training and access to short-courses for professional staff commited to the field of Vocational Rehabilitation.  We adhere to a code of ethics, and seek staff who take opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills through continuing education.

Job Description
The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor provides and coordinates a wide range of rehabilitation counseling and case management services to persons with physical, sensory and psychiatric disabilities. Performs initial evaluations, makes eligibility determinations, does rehabilitation planning and problem solving, and counseling. Duties include coordination and implementation of rehabilitation services, case documentation, employment services, and administration and interpretation of vocational testing.
Job Requirements
Human Services Diploma plus 1 year experience serving people with disabilities (Trainee). Bachelor or Masters Degree for Counsellor I or II.
